I heard it in like 2004. AP and I listened to it over and over. We were addicted to the words and the voice. It's one of those songs that just gets inside your heart and sits there. Anyway, the English translation runs along with the video for you non-Hebrew speakers.
...and I think Ivri's version is actually better and more powerful than the original by Rita. Israelis might think I'm crazy for talking smack about Rita but I have no shame...she is a bit dramatic for me.
LE called me once from a party. I was still living in the US and this song came on at the party. It was the techno version. Anyway...he called and held the phone out and said he can't hear the song without thinking of me now. It was sweet.
